Ministry of Energy to hit duty on imports

Ministry of Energy and Mines initiates anti-dumping duties on imports of petroleum products. This was announced at a press conference, Director of the Department of the gas, oil and petroleum industry ministry, Konstantin Borodin. According to him, with the appropriate request to the Minister of Energy and Mines, Yuri Boyko approached the heads of six refineries. "We support this initiative and to initiate anti-dumping duties and anti-dumping investigation," - he said. K. Borodin said that the imposition of antidumping duties is necessary to protect domestic producers. Because of preferences, which were obtained by the Russian, Belarusian and Kazakh oil refineries within the Common Economic Space, Ukrainian enterprises put at a disadvantage, he said. Previously executive director of TNK-BP in Ukraine Felix Lunev stated that the beginning of the full functioning of the EEA calls into question the very existence of the Ukrainian oil refining industry. In particular, he noted that Ukraine's neighbors in the CIS have preferential pricing for raw materials. Also in the Customs Union by its members to subsidize their industry and thus are active modernization of its refineries, and Ukrainian plants are suffering and can not accumulate funds for technological improvements.
