Glad to be back VAT on the export of wood pellets and briquettes

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered a bill on amending the section XX "Transitional Provisions" of the Tax Code of Ukraine regarding the settlement of certain provisions of exporting goods under the customs export-producing enterprises. Bill № 8091 from 08.02.2011 referred to the Committee of People's Deputies from the Party of Regions and KPU. The aim is to settle the bill at the legislative level, the development of the domestic industry of alternative solid fuels. The bill proposes to amend paragraph 15 of subsection 2 of section XX of the Tax Code of Ukraine, according to which, temporarily, until January 1, 2014, transactions for the supply of wood pellets and briquettes are not exempt from taxation the value added tax (VAT). According to the authors of the project, wood pellets and briquettes are a new product end-use and are not commodities like other goods of this commodity group. "Since the last stage of the production of briquettes and pellets is pressing small fraction of wood dust, which is formed after several stages of processing of wood and its subsequent drying. So, briquettes and pellets are of course ready to consume the product," - said in a memorandum.
