In the world there is an excess of lead

World excess lead in the January-February 2011 increased to 33.9 thousand tons. This is illustrated by World Bureau of Metal Statistics. According to estimates, the mining of lead in a given period has increased by 8% and reached 568.8 thousand tons. In turn, the production of refined lead in the world market amounted to 1.5 million tons. Demand for the metal has risen by 10%. Previously, the organization stated that the global shortage of lead in 2010 amounted to 18 tons. Consumption of refined lead in the last year rose to 9.329 million tons against 8.761 million tons a year earlier. Amounts of lead production in the world increased from 8,802,000 tons to 9,311,000 tons. According to the International Lead and Zinc Study Group, the global excess of lead in 2010 decreased to 48 thousand tons. Volumes of production of refined lead in the last year amounted to 9.401 million tonnes and its consumption - 9.353 million tonnes.
