In a world of reduced excess zinc

The world surplus of zinc in the January-November 2010 fell to 223 thousand tons against 381 thousand tons a year earlier. This is illustrated by International Lead and Zinc Study Group. It is estimated production of refined zinc in the world in a given period totaled 11.677 million tons. In turn, the world metal consumption has reached 11.454 million tons. Earlier, World Bureau of Metal Statistics released data, which suggest that the global zinc surplus in January-November 2010 increased to 435 thousand tons against 182 thousand tons a year earlier. Earlier, senior manager of nonferrous metals, Paul Robinson, CRU Group said that the prospects for the global market of nonferrous metals in 2010 look very optimistic. His opinion, he explained that the metal prices rise, demand from emerging markets is restored, and stocks are no longer increasing. He predicted that by 2014 the demand for these metals in developing countries amounted to 64% of the total world consumption. Ministry of Industry
