The Court of Appeal of Kiev has upheld the decision of Pechersk District Court to change the preventive measure of the former interior minister, leader of the Social Movement "People's Self-Defense" Yuriy Lutsenko on his own recognizance to detention for up to 27 February. The court took the appropriate decision at the meeting. "The grounds for cancellation of the decision of the court of first instance there is no" - read the decision at a meeting of the presiding judge. Thus, the court dismissed the lawyer Yuri Lutsenko to change the preventive punishment for his client. The meeting lasted about 2 hours, was attended by deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of the Bloc "Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense, as well as leader of the All-Ukrainian Union" Fatherland ", the former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko. As reported earlier, lawyer Igor Fomin 30 December appealed Arrest Lutsenko in Kyiv Court of Appeal. Recall that the former interior minister was arrested on December 26 SBU. Pechersk district court of Kiev has chosen for his arrest as a preventive measure. Prior to that Lutsenko was on on his own recognizance. Earlier, Prosecutor General's Office reported the completion of a criminal investigation against Lutsenko on charges of embezzlement, in approving the order, which his driver was credited with 40 thousand UAH. However, later, Prosecutor General's Office has increased the amount of damages inflicted by the State ex-minister, to 360 thousand UAH.
