Hold contraband will be even harder

Cabinet of Ministers approved an action plan on prevention in 2011 of smuggling and counterfeit production of excisable goods. The corresponding order, developed by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Government adopted at the meeting on 23 February. Informs the press service of the Ministry of Economy. Implementation of the proposed disposal activities will contribute to the timely identification and reduction of shadow turnover of alcohol and alcoholic beverages and tobacco products to ensure a stable revenue taxes and duties (mandatory payments), as well as to strengthen control over the import, manufacture and sale of excisable goods. An action plan is an implementation program of the President of Ukraine "Ukraine for the people" to protect domestic producers from unfair competition and contraband that would prevent the development of shadow schemes for the production and distribution of counterfeit products in the circulation of alcohol, alcoholic beverages, to identify and prevent attempts to move across the state border of excisable goods in violation of the law and prevent the entry of poor-quality products for the consumer market of Ukraine.
