World steel production rose by 7%

World steel production in March 2011 compared with March 2010 increased by 7% and amounted to 129 million tons. This is illustrated by World Steel Association. Overall, the I quarter of the world market have released 372 million tons of metal, which is 8,8% more compared to the same period last year. According to the organization, the largest producer of steel is China. Here in March, 59.4 million tons of smelted metal, a 9% increase over the previous year. In Japanese factories produced 9.1 million tons of steel, which is 2,7% less than in March last year. Steel production in South Korea for the year rose by 14,4%, reaching 5.8 million tons. WSA data also suggest that Germany is in a given period of 4 million tons of molten steel, which is by 0,1% compared with the previous year. Italy has increased smelting by 8,6%, to 2.6 million tons, and Spain - on 0,3% to 1,6 million tons. At the same time on the Russian factories in March this year, steel production rose by 7,4%, reaching 6.16 million tons. Ukrainian steel plants have cut steel production by 0,2%, to 3.05 million tons. In Turkish factories smelting rose by 24,9%, to 2.7 million tons, while in the United States - decreased by 0.2% to 7.1 million tons. In Brazil, production of metals increased by 6,8%, to 3.02 million tons, while in India - by 8,6%, to 6.35 million tons. Based on data from the organization, the largest producing countries of the metal on the results of March were: China, Japan, USA, India, Russia, South Korea, Germany, Ukraine, Brazil and Turkey. Recall that world crude steel production in February 2011 compared with February 2010 increased by 8,8% and amounted to 117 million tons.
