Imports of fur and sheepskin freed from VAT until 2016

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered a draft law on amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine (regarding tax exemption of value added tax transactions for the supply of raw hides and tanned skin without further processing). The bill № 8375 of 11.04.2011 referred to the Committee of People's Deputy Party of Regions Anatoliy Kinakh. This bill provides for amendments to paragraph 16 of subsection 2 of section XX "Transitional Provisions" of the Tax Code of Ukraine concerning the exemption of value added tax transactions for the supply of raw hides and tanned skin without further processing, matching the description of goods in the current edition of the new codes UKTVED. Adoption of the bill would allow developed to resolve issues that arise in applying the provisions of the Tax Code of Ukraine. In particular, it temporarily, until January 1, 2016, transactions for the supply of raw hides and tanned skin without further processing (headings 4101-4106), including operations on the import of such goods, exempt from taxation on value added.
