Steelmakers PRC considered the consumption of coke

The consumption of coke in the Chinese steel industry in 2010 amounted to 270 million tons, which equals 70% of the total output of coke in the country. This is illustrated by National Energy Administration, said Metal Bulletin. In turn, other industries, including chemical industry, metallurgical engineering, industry, non-ferrous metals and alloys, used 30% of coke, or 110 million tons. As is known, the volume of coke production in China last year totaled 387 million tons. About 40% of total output accounted for Shanxi province. It employs about 150 enterprises. Earlier, representatives of the Chinese Association of the coke industry expressed the view that the demand for coke in China in 2010 will grow to 370-380 million tons. As is known, in 2009, coke consumption in China was 352.6 million tons, up 11.78% (37 million tons) compared with 2008.
