Ukraine has increased the amount of the monetary base

Volume of the monetary base in December increased by 4.6% (YTD increase of 15.8%) - up to 225.7 billion USD. This is stated in the review of the National Bank of Ukraine on the monetary market of Ukraine. The dynamics of the monetary base in December, had a significant impact cost factors - the amount of government funds in national currency on accounts of National Bank of Ukraine in December decreased by 74,9% - to 2,7 billion UAH. Previously reported that the amount of monetary base in Ukraine in 2011 will grow by 14-18% compared to the beginning of the year. In this case, the NBU predicted slowdown in the rate of circulation of money by 5%, while the value of money multiplier at end of year - 2,8%. In turn, the Economy Ministry said that the economy lacks the money supply, as the coefficient of monetization (the ratio of broad money to GDP) was 0.483, whereas for the normal operation of the financial system must be equal to 0,5.
