Tata and Rio will develop new technology

Indian steel group Tata Steel and raw materials giant Rio Tinto have agreed to develop new technologies. It is reported by Metal Bulletin. In particular, the parties signed an agreement to maintain the technological and commercial development of environmentally friendly production of direct reduced iron, entitled HIsarna. From the document that the company will cooperate by sharing the existing knowledge on the two technologies are combined in the new process. Previously reported that Tata Steel in the next 5 years to increase production capacity for the metal to 7 million tonnes to 16 million tonnes.
