Russian Federation expects the adoption of the Law of Ukraine on the special status of Russian language. This was stated by Vice-Speaker of Russian State Duma Valery Yazev during the Second Forum of Ukrainian regions and subjects of the Urals Federal District, UNIAN reports. According to him, today in Ukraine there are about 50% of Russian-speaking population. As reported, the Venice Commission issued an opinion on the draft law "On languages ??in Ukraine", involves the expansion of Russian language functioning in the country. According to BK, if adopted, the Russian language will be equated to the state. The authors of the bill do not agree with this and are ready to make the language issue to a referendum. We recall that on 7 September the chairman of the Party of Regions, Alexander Efremov, chairman of the Communist Party Peter Simonenko and a member of the Bloc of Lytvyn Sergei Grinevetsky registered in the parliament draft law "On languages ??in Ukraine," which suggested that Parliament extend the use of Russian language in Ukraine.
