In February, the share of foreign capital in Ukrainian banking system declined by 0.1 percentage points. In this March 1, there were 55 banks with foreign capital (31,3% of the total number of existing financial institutions). Of them, 20 banks - with 100% foreign capital (or 11,4%). Total equity at the beginning of March, according to the National Bank reached 139.14 billion USD. Increased during the two months of 2011 to 1.42 bln. or 1.03%. The aggregate amount of capital Ukrainian financial institutions during the same period increased by 0.76 bln. or 0.52%. For 2010 the overall proportion of foreign capital in Ukrainian banking system increased by 4.8 percentage points from 35.8% to 40.6%. As of 1 January 2011 of the 176 banks operating in Ukraine 55 financial institutions - with foreign capital (as of 1 January 2010, there were 51 banks with foreign capital of 182 employees), including 20 - with 100% foreign capital (as of January 1 2010 - 18 banks).
