NBU explains: banks are prohibited to change course during the day

Commercial banks do not have the right to change the course of purchase and sale of foreign currency during the day Such a clarification is contained in a letter to the National Bank of Ukraine on December 29. Letter appeared to avoid the erroneous interpretation promulgated yesterday by the NBU. As UNIAN reported earlier, banks are ordered to follow the current decree № 502. The circular stipulates that the establishment of foreign exchange selling rate for the hryvnia is the prerogative of the chairman of the bank that issues the appropriate order. In addition, the decree № 502 makes specific provision on that "bank (financial institution) has the right to change the value of the course of buying and selling of foreign currencies during the operational (working) days."
