The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered a draft law amending the Law of Ukraine "On natural monopolies" (for activities in related markets). Bill № 8358 from 07.04.2011 referred to the Committee of Ministers of Ukraine. The draft law is designed to ensure equal non-discriminatory access to economic entities operating in adjacent markets, to networks of natural monopolies (railways, electricity, water supply, sanitation, heating, etc.) and services related to infrastructure use of the natural monopoly. In addition, the project is designed to empower national commissions regulating natural monopolies in terms of defining the criteria of possible overlapping of activities.
