The volume of production of steel pipes in Russia in January-April 2011 compared with the same period of 2010 increased by 19,9% and amounted to 3.4 million tons. This is evidenced by Rosstat. In turn, the release of finished rolled steel rose by 5.3% to 19.5 million tons. Volumes of iron ore mining in this period increased by 8,3%, to 33.1 million tons and coke production decreased by 0.7% to 9,000,000 tons. Earlier it was reported that the volume of steel production in Russia in I quarter of 2011 compared to same period in 2010 increased by 9,2% and amounted to 17.3 million tons. Issue of rolled ferrous metals rose in a given period by 7,9%, to 14.7 million tonnes and pig iron - by 0,8%, to 12.1 million tons. Production of steel pipes in Russia since the beginning of the year increased by 21,2%, to 2.6 million tons and iron ore - at 7.55, up 24.4 million tons. Nevertheless, the issue of Coke fell to 0,1% to 6,8 million tons. Above the head of Severstal, Alexei Mordashov suggested that the Russian market began in 2011 will grow by 8%. Ministry of Industry
