In Rada propose to ban alcohol sales at gas stations

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered a draft law on amendments to article 15.3 of the law of Ukraine "On state regulation of production and turnover of ethyl, cognac and fruit, alcoholic drinks and tobacco" (with respect to restrictions on the sale of beer, alcoholic beverages and tobacco). The bill № 8404 of 19.04.2011 referred to the leadership of the deputy head of parliament Nikolai Tomenko. The project aims to empower local authorities regarding the regulation of distribution of beer, spirits, soft drinks and tobacco products and limit opportunities for the sale of those goods to the most vulnerable consumer categories - minor, young people and drivers of motor vehicles. The bill proposes to: - define legislatively the right of local governments to impose restrictions on the sale of beer, spirits, soft drinks and tobacco products; - Prohibit the sale of these products in small retail sales network, located within 100 meters of the available land border secondary and pre-school - Prohibit the sale of beer, spirits and soft drinks in the petrol stations.
