Brazil increased its imports of coal

In the first quarter of 2011, Brazil imported about 4,907,000 tons of coal, which is 24,8% more compared to last year. It is reported Yieh Corp. In particular, the volume of imports from the U.S. totaled 2.29 million tons, up 64.2% year on year, and 1.048 million tons from Australia, a decrease of 12.9% compared to last year. Among them, 240 thousand tons were imported from Colombia, which is 44,5% more compared to 2010, 200 tons - from China and 99 tonnes - from Indonesia. Previously reported that imports of metallurgical coal to Brazil in 2020 will increase from 12-13 million tonnes to 21 million tons. According to experts, the supply will grow against the backdrop of increasing the volume of steel production in the country.
