Azarov: The budget deficit will not exceed 2,5%

Prime Minister Mykola Azarov is convinced that the state budget deficit this year will not exceed 2,5% He stated this today during a meeting with Deputy U.S. Treasury Secretary Christopher Smart, the press service of the Cabinet. "2010 we finished with a gain of more than 4% of GDP, the budget deficit we have managed to reduce to 5.5%. Already this year we go through the first quarter with a surplus, and therefore we have no doubt that the annual budget deficit this year will be at about 2.5%, no more ", - said Azarov. He recalled that in 2009 the decline in GDP was 15%, and the budget deficit amounted to 16%. The Prime Minister stressed that the overall annual forecasts for Ukraine's optimistic, though there are serious challenges and problems associated with rising world prices for oil and food prices. According to him, the government will make every effort to reduce their negative impact on the economy of Ukraine. Recall yesterday's Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said that in January-March 2010 GDP grew by over 5% growth in industrial output - more than 10%.
